Our boys make our world a little smaller. Smaller in the expected ways: we don’t get out as much as we used to, we don’t always have the luxury of making decisions based on our whims, we don’t leave the house on a moments notice; and smaller in ways we didn’t see coming: normal activities slow down to a crawl and aspirations for a days’ achievements are often compromised.
But smaller is good in most ways. Everything we need is found in any given moment. Our immediate surroundings are full of discoveries and wonder. One room can contain more love than we can hold. Celebrations burst from ordinary events!
This life may look and feel little, but somehow we are living bigger than before.
